UX & UI designer based in United Kingdom

About me

Hello, my name is Sam and firstly if you’re on here please feel free to have a look at some of the designs that I have created. So, this section is a little bit about me, well as you’ve probably seen I’m a UX UI designer based in the UK.

At first though my main passion was coding things. I did quite a variety of coding projects using a wide range of programming languages such as C#, VB.Net, HTML, JavaScript etc. However, whilst completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Computing I studied a module called Interaction Design which taught us all about user interactions and how to design good user-friendly products and systems.

After that module I became more and more interested in UI & UX design which then prompted me to further better my knowledge on UI & UX design. I did this by buying 2 courses on UI & UX design both taught by the same instructor, however the 2 courses focused on different design tools. The first course I took focused on Adobe XD and the second focused on Figma. After I completed these courses, I continued to use both to create some more concept ideas, all of which you can view on in my portfolio on this website.

I am currently based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and I am able to travel to Leeds or somewhere with good public transport links.

My CV

I’ve done work experience at Cap Motor Finance in the centre of Leeds. I was there for 4 weeks working in the .Net development team. I learnt more about Team Foundation Server, agile development and working as part of a team.

One of my final tasks at the company was to update the company’s dashboard with user account management functionality. This invloved designing and implementing a web page using CSS, HTML & C#. This new functionality would allow users to create new user records which would then be stored in a SQL Server database.
